About Bridget

"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending."

C.S Lewis

I am the principal psychologist at Holistic Psychology Brisbane. I am  a fully registered Clinical Psychologist. This means that after finishing a four year undergraduate degree in psychology I went on to do a two year Masters program in Clinical Psychology, followed by a further two years of supervision and training in a clinical registrar program. I completed my university qualifications in 1990, and became a member of The Board of Clinical Psychologists in 1992. As a Clinical Psychologist, I am registered with Medicare as a provider of Specialist Psychological Treatments.

In my clinical work I place the utmost importance on the relationship I have with my clients. I have an easy, warm manner and I firmly believe that if people feel accepted and understood they will be most able to participate fully in the therapy and change process.

I have undertaken training and self-guided education in Personal Integrative Therapy or PI Therapy. I am fascinated by research elucidating the role  of nutrition and many other lifestyle factors in mental health. I am particularly drawn to PI Therapy for two reasons. The first is that PI Therapy aims to optimise health, rather than simply remove illness. The second is that PI Therapy  aligns with an important personal goal, - that is to follow best practice myself in terms of relevant lifestyle factors to enhance the mental and physical health of my family.

When I am not being a clinical psychologist I enjoy balancing rocks on beaches in New Zealand! I also enjoy other out door pursuits, particularly bushwalking, trekking up mountains and boogie boarding in the ocean. I love reading, cooking, going out for breakfast, and best of all spending time with my four adult or nearly adult "children".
